PUT IT ASIDE

PUT IT ASIDE:    My thoughts may wander away from the present and create ghosts and goblins.  Eckhart Tolle’s book NOW sets one in such a good now (pun intended) mind set.    Whenever I find myself walking down the ‘why me‘ or the ‘if only‘ or the ‘did this or that mean this or that‘ thought path,  I know I am lucky when I acknowledge that it has no bearings on NOW.  That is like bringing me out of some depths to be present with my current surroundings. I call that the act of put it aside.   Which is most often experienced as a relief or wake up.

ROUTINE

Routine:   I am finding my rhythm / routine.  When I awake, the cats (2) come first in getting their breakfast or I will never have peace.  The coffee pot is started and I sit to meditate.   My day seem to flow more peacefully this way.

This is the first time I have felt comfortable with the structure of a routine.  Whenever to meditate just didn’t make it happen.

ROCKS

ROCKS:  Do you pass by vendors selling rocks (crystals / minerals)?  If so, I’d like you to stop and examine these items.  Handling them is necessary to examine the refraction of light on and thru the rock.  Of course, it is mostly crystals that are translucent enough to be seen into or thru.  What about the shape, layers, crevices?  Does it have any fossil designs?

I will pass by these displays, if I can be so disciplined, because 9 out of 10 stops results in my purchase of another rock.   How about taking a walk and finding a nice rock.  I bring those home also.

Why?  What is this attraction?   I think it is another recognition and appreciation of the beauty and glory of Mother Earth.   Hold one of your rocks now (or find one to hold in the near future)  and wonder upon it’s beauty.  I would say simple beauty, but mostly it is not simple.  Honor Mother Earth in this manner.

JUST LOVE

JUST LOVE:   Just love.  Just love.  If you feel fear,  just love.  What is your fond memory?  Keep it handy.   Bet that fond memory has love in it.   Joy maybe?

JUSTIFY

JUSTIFY:   From Merriam-Webster dictionary:

  • : to provide or be a good reason for (something)

  • : to prove or show (something) to be just, right, or reasonable

  • : to provide a good reason for the actions of (someone)

This is not a favorite word of mine.  Some how it seems argumentative – to have to justify.   And people seem to be able to manipulate data to justify whatever side of an issue they are supporting/promoting.

The attitude I prefer is of waiting as the proof of the pudding is in the eating.

SNOW

SNOW:   January 23, 2016 was very, very white.  In my childhood, I would awake to snow in joy.  It was a surprise!   This snow had been forecast-ed all week long loaded with hype of fearful connotations.  Keep phones charged, have flashlights,  have generators, have food (with about only one day of no access to grocery stores?).   Maybe reminders are ok, but really; how dumb are we?   I, who rarely turn on the TV, have received the fearful messages none the less.

Oh JOY!  I hope you bought a new sled, saucer, or warmer gloves to go enjoy the moment.  That would go a long way to erase the fear.   Do you have children to play with in the snow?  That will demonstrate JOY.

2013 12 09_0417

I enjoy photography, and got outside with the camera.   Years ago, we had a good (week long) snow storm which I recorded on VHS.  My son was in the military, and I was recording for him our efforts to keep the driveway open in a humorous manner.  That has since been saved to DVD and is most fun to watch.

Whether or not you have snow,  think of it with love, not fear.

GALACTIC BROTHERS & SISTERS

Galactic Brothers and Sisters:  As a teenager, I used to like hanging out at a playground on the swings in the evening.  (I now come to view that as my meditative spot)  While it was dark out, I would be looking up and pondering how very small we are.  As I child, I acknowledged the vastness of the galaxy.

From that view point, I knew that our ego was really out of control to think all this was created for our existence on this particular planet in outer-space.  It is hard for me to believe that Galactic Beings are not an accepted fact of life.  Also, why would we fear them if we think they exist?   Movie propaganda?  Same as we fear other nationalities on earth – divide and conquer to control.

As I was thinking on this topic, I turned on my computer to discover that X-FILES is returning this coming Sunday!   Somehow, I felt that was a confirmation for me to write about this.

INTENT

PRAYER SHAWL:  Now I do like to knit, but what is meant by a prayer shawl?  Is the recipient to be a religious devotee whom you see wearing a shawl while praying?   That’s what I used to picture when I saw the words Prayer Shawl.  But I have a better notion now:  PRAYER KNIT ARTICLE.

While I knit,  it is really not random.  It is specific for an individual I am holding in mind as I knit.   The color is specific to that person as is the size, texture and pattern.  (Patterns that are easy and quick are more appealing to me at present time, and I use color and texture to compensate for appeal.)

Since I am working on an article for a particular person, I find myself thinking of that person while engaged in knitting.  I have then decided to hold that person in loving thoughts while I knit.  I guess that would make the item a PRAYER KNIT ARTICLE?

What things are you working on that you could call a PRAYER ______ ARTICLE?

HEART

“When we ask, ‘Am I following a path with heart?’ we discover that no one can define for us exactly what our path should be”   Jack Kornfield,  Page 12,  A PATH WITH HEART

Who can tell you what your path is?  No one.  Just your heart.  Listen with your heart, listen to your heart.  Lead with your heart.

Example:  Does your heart tell you this is an ideal job for you to deal with heartfelt issues outside of financial concerns?

Reflection with your heart is where to search for the answer.

NO ULTERIOR MOTIVES

“Take action without expecting a reward. When you do your best and take action without expecting a reward, you enjoy every action, and can even receive greater rewards than you imagined.”   By don Miguel Ruiz

No ulterior motives.  This has been a really good rule of thumb for me.  No one keeping score.  Just fellowship and good will.  What could feel better?
