SURRENDER

Surrender:  “Is your doing surrendered or non-surrendered?  This is what determines your success in life, not how much effort you make.  Effort implies stress and strain, needing to reach a certain point in the future or accomplish a certain result.” Eckhart Tolle, page 65 STILLNESS SPEAKS

I need to flow with the current and direct my energies toward a safe shore.    Not being directed to go against the current by some ego thought that some other part of the shore I have to have even though it is not within reach.   What is within reach during the current of life today?   Working this outlet of Reflections.  It is a place for me to dive deep into my knowing and find expression.

Today is a gift I am giving myself.  Regretfully, I find not feeling well physically as a needed excuse to just be.  Other days are interrupted / directed by obligations of my self to physical matters.  Today I reflect on BEING.  Today is my day for inside work.  And that feels like a holiday.   Maybe holiday means Holy day?

INNER FORTITUDE

Personal Growth:  “If we have ideas about how our practice should unfold, these will often get in the way, preventing us from honoring the phase that is actually with us.”  Jack Kornfield,  Page 178 A PATH WITH HEART.

This supports my negative feelings that quotes of setting goals, and having the determination and dedication to give it the hard work required will make your life dream materialize.   Which implies if your life is not as you desire, it is because of your lack of goal, determination, dedication and hard work.  That mind set forgets that life happens.

Maybe the best place to be mentally, physically, emotionally and spiritually is in the space of acceptance and preparation for rolling with the ups and downs of life happenings.  That to me would be called inner fortitude.

FOCUS

FOCUS:    “Whatever we focus on determines how we feel.  And how we feel – our stat of mind – powerfully influences our actions and interactions.   Rather than jump to conclusions, consider all the possibilities and choose to focus on one that will empower you and those your care about.”  Anthony Robbins

Key here is WHATEVER WE FOCUS ON.   So I say focus on gratitude.  What do I have to be grateful for today?  That changes my state of mind.

CLEAN SLATE

CLEAN SLATE:  Today is a fresh day.  I am thankful that I can wake up to peace within and without.  Today’s gift is unstructured time.  Not all days offer that; for which I am grateful.

If there were not structured days to off-set the unstructured days – boring.  I think when I am in spirit, I will be up to mischief.

PONDER

PONDER:   What would I do differently today if it was my only day?  I would run as fast as I can to experience joy in the moment.   For me that would be:

  • Walk in the woods
  • Sit and listen to birds sing
  • Photograph all the beauty I see
  • Hug family members (or random individuals) until I see them squirm.

For the fun of it, I’ll see how many of those I can do.

What would be on your list?

NON-JUDGEMENT

NON-JUDGEMENT:  My 2 1/2 year old grandson is teaching me non-judgement.   The pointed way he does that is by his coloring. He doesn’t care that there are lines to stay within, or that grass is pink.  Do we point that out to him?  Of course not.  He does not judge his work.  He isn’t afraid of going outside the lines.  He does it for the joy of seeing color splashed on the page.  He also thinks he can sing and play a guitar!

Come to think of it,  how would he have learned to walk, run, talk, kiss and hug if his efforts were not encouraged.  Suppose he had said walking is too hard, I can’t do it. Will he grow up to be an artist or a musician?   As long as he can be innocent of self  judgement he has the freedom TO BE.   And what a joy his BEing-ness is to his family!

PERSONAL RESPONSIBILITY

PERSONAL RESPONSIBILITY:  There seems to be people in our lives to whom we feel a need to meet up to their expectations.  To acknowledge that is the first step in breaking free TO BE. Acknowledge, give gratitude for the experience or lesson, and move on.

Isn’t thinking  that this physical experience of being here is to meet someone else’s expectations a shirking of one’s responsibility TO BE a full expression of oneself.   Now the difficult work of realizing Self and developing the growth strategies to walk as a reflection of One’s Higher Self becomes a personal responsibility.

BE IN SPIRIT

BE IN SPIRIT:   Writing  a Daily Reflection is difficult for me.  I feel that I cannot attempt it on any day that does not allow a large block of time to create.  Thus, I seem to be creating 2 a day postings to catch up every other day.

To create a post I need some form of inspiration.  I need to practice what I preach and meditate to be in spirit and bring in some thought or reflection.

My inspiration for today’s post is to present this struggle as a reminder to meditate.  Meditate is not always to be in a state to share Light, Love,Power and Presence of Divinity; but just to Be IN SPIRIT to receive.

HUMOR

LAUGH OUT LOUD    A little humor for today:

“It doesn’t matter what we do

until we accept ourselves.

Once we accept ourselves,

it doesn’t matter what we do.”

KNOW or SURMISE

Whoever undertakes to set himself up as a Judge of Truth and Knowledge is shipwrecked by the laughter of the gods.  Albert Einstein

The difference here in knowing Truth and Knowledge is the source of that determination.  I believe that would be the word JUDGE.  Judging, in my definition, is sorting out with the brain perceived information to make a judgement.   I hope I am not guilty of this type of superiority as to think I know when I can only surmise.  To surmise is just to make an opinion or conjecture.

When I do have a knowing,  it is not from my brain; but from my heart and the emotion that a situation gives me.   Not that I have clear understanding, but a hint that all presented is not all there is to the picture/situation/person as really authentic.  Or a knowing to follow a certain course of action that the brain hasn’t dictated.

This is also a trust issue that I can winnow out what information from myself or others is a ‘knowing of the brain‘ vs the ‘knowing of the heart.’  Do not disregard lightly information from the heart.
